Choosing Between Kotak 811 and Kotak 811 Super Account

Kotak 811 account: No conditions regarding monthly deposits. This is a true zero balance account.
Transactions: NEFT, RTGS, IMPS are free.
Debit Card: A free virtual debit card is provided. Physical debit card costs ₹299.

For most users, the Kotak 811 basic savings account is recommended so that no charges are incurred.

Steps to Open Kotak 811 Zero Balance Account

Click on “Open Account” and enter your mobile number and Google mail ID. Alternatively, you can manually enter your mail ID. Enter your area pin code and click “Open Account.”

Important:
Ensure the mobile number you use is linked to your Aadhaar for online KYC.

After entering details, an OTP will be sent to your mail for verification. Enter the OTP and verify.

Next, enter your PAN number and Aadhaar number. Accept the consent and proceed to verify. Another OTP will be sent to the mobile linked with Aadhaar. Enter the OTP.

Allow the location permission when prompted. Your Aadhaar details will auto-fetch including your photo.

Manually enter details like:

Father’s Name
Occupation (Salaried, Self-employed, Student, Housewife, Farmer)
Monthly Income
Marital Status
Mother’s Name (before marriage)

Proceed to the next step.

Address and Document Upload

The address fetched from Aadhaar will be shown. If you currently live at the same address, confirm it.

Proceed to upload documents for video KYC:

Front photo of your PAN card.
Your selfie (passport-size photo).
Signature on plain paper.

Nominee Details

You will be asked to add nominee details such as your wife, husband, or parents. Fill them carefully.

Account Funding and Video KYC

Choose the Kotak 811 Classic Account to avoid minimum balance charges. Initial funding of ₹1000 is required via UPI. After funding, your account will be activated.

You will proceed to Video KYC:

Allow permissions (camera, microphone).
Connect with the Kotak Bank executive.
Answer basic questions.
Show your original PAN card and signature on paper.

Note:
During video KYC, do not take help from anyone else. Keep pen, paper, and PAN card ready.

Account Activation and Details

After successful video KYC:

Your account will be processed.
Within 72 hours (usually same working day), Kotak Mahindra Bank will send account activation details via email.

Check your mailbox:

A password-protected PDF is attached. Enter your Date of Birth (without any symbol) to open it.

Accessing Kotak 811 Virtual Debit Card

Download the Kotak 811 Banking UPI Card app (lightweight app) to:

View your virtual debit card.
Access card number, expiry date, CVV.

You can use this card for:

Online shopping
Registering on UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe.

If you want a physical debit card, you can request it for ₹299. The charges will be deducted from your account.

Activating UPI and Receiving Money

Your UPI is activated. You can:

Share your UPI QR code with others.
Receive money directly into your Kotak account.
