How to Add Family Member to Ration Card Online in 2025

If a new member has joined your family due to birth or marriage, or someone’s name was left out earlier, you can easily add their name to your ration card online through the government’s official e-District portal. This guide explains the fastest method for adding a family member to your ration card in just a few steps.

Step 1: Open e-District Portal

Open your web browser and search for “e-District”. You can also use the direct link provided in the video description. Once on the portal, click on the “Login” tab.

Step 2: Login as a CSC eDistrict User

Choose Citizen Login → Select CSC eDistrict User → Enter your User ID, Password, and Captcha.

Note: If you don’t have a CSC ID, visit a nearby Jan Seva Kendra or Public Service Center.

Step 3: Access Departmental Integration Services

  • Click on “Apply for Departmental Integration Services”
  • Select Department of Food and Civil Supplies – Ration Card

Step 4: Open Amendment Form

From the NFSA menu, select “Application for Ration Card Amendment (Section 3.2)”

  • Choose your district
  • Enter your ration card number
  • Click Search

Your existing ration card details will be automatically fetched.

Step 5: Add New Family Member

Go to the “Family Details” section and click “Add Family Member”

You’ll need to enter:

  • Name (in Hindi and English)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Annual Income (enter 0 if child/student)
  • Father’s/Husband’s Name
  • Relation with head of family
  • Aadhaar Number

Click “Add Member”

⚠️ Important: If the member (e.g., a woman after marriage) already exists on another ration card, you must first remove her name from the previous card to avoid errors.

Step 6: Finalize and Submit

After adding all members:

  • Click Proceed
  • Review all details
  • Click Final Lock to send your request to the Food Inspector/Tehsil Office

Step 7: Download Acknowledgment

Go to the “Amendment Acknowledgement Receipt” section

  • Enter your District and Ration Card Number
  • Download the correction slip that includes the added member’s details

What If It’s Not Approved Quickly?

If the form is not approved within a week:

  • Print the correction slip
  • Attach a copy of the member’s Aadhaar card
  • Submit it at the Tehsil Food Inspector’s office

This helps speed up manual verification.

Alternate Method (App)

The Mera Ration 2.0 app can also be used, but many users have reported long delays. For now, the e-District portal remains the most reliable method.

Final Words

You can easily add missing family members—like newborns or newly married women—to your ration card online using this official process. If you don’t have a CSC login, visit your nearest Jan Seva Kendra to complete the process with their help.
